english: I am a big fan of me time, me time is important. Not just to me, it’s also important to the people around me. They get a much better Maria in their life if I take my me time. I never really understood me time until a few years ago where I suffered an ulcer from stress. Stress from living in a new city, working my ass of at my new job, trying to be a great girlfriend, the perfekt daughter and trying to live my (many) dreams, amongst other things. My little ulcer still lives in my stomach and it kindly gives me a little tug when I need to take some me time. Fashionweek can be a stressful time. Luckily I have it easy; I am driven around in awesome cars, my shows are all in my calendar and the driver knows where I am going. People are always nice and it’s a fun time. But it’s still looong days, lot’s of mingling, lot’s of pictures to take and sets of clothes to change into. So the week after, I need some me time. My me time can be many things; I love watching friends, doing a facemask or laying on a park bench looking into the sky and listen to Elton John – it all depends on the mood. Something I also love is to spend time in the kitchen, making stuff. One of my favorite flavors from my childhood is peach ice tea so when Fuze tea asked me to taste their new range of ice teas I was all in. Fuze tea is made with black tea extract and natural fruit flavors and makes for a great refreshment. I like to make a little “drink” with my ice tea. Apart of me time is also making me feel special and a nice looking beverage does that for me. I love to add raspberries and mint to the peach flavored tea and lemon with a stench of rosemary for the lemon flavored tea. These extra little ingredients not only makes a pretty drink but a full experience. Enjoy!

God torsdag derude!

english: My color pallet is often influenced by my surroundings. I am so lucky to live in the middle of Copenhagen (that’s also the most beautiful part, in my opinion), and that is right by Amalienborg, the marble church and the old Odd Fellow mansion. The sandy exterior, the white windows and the mighty buildings brings me a sense of serenity everyday. My new favorite shirt is this one from Weekday x Champion. I have mentioned in a previous post that I am in love with teddy at the moment so this is a great add on to my current collection. It’s only just launched today so hurry into one of the stores or online to check it out. Tomorrow I am off to Oslo! I am so excited I have never been there before and I look forward to being apart of their fashionweek! Happy Thursday!

SPORTY SUE

english: Hi beauties! I just found a little map of outfits on my desktop that I didn’t get around to publishing in 2017. So I thought I would share them with you now. Let’s start with some color lovin’. Taken sometime this summer, somewhere in Copenhagen by Laura. I had for a short while a very intense love of the mixing of something very sporty with very not so sporty. Like mixing Cedric Charlier and Nike. Please notice the bangs – god damm it, those are fine!

Shirt / Gina Tricot, Skirt / Monk, Sunglasses / Céline, Bag / Marni, Sandals / Chanel

A RAINBOW OF RED

english: I wore this second outfit almost all of July last year, or at least thats how I remember it. It was comfortable, colorful and warm enough to keep the chilly danish summer out. I still have this knit hanging in my closet. It’s still pretty cool, I have to say!

Shirt / Résumé, Pants / DKNY, Sunglasses / Versace, Sandals / Chanel

SCANDI GIRL

english: A shoutout to my scandinavian roots. The scandinavian style sector is not really a place I often navigate but I loved this look. I am so into the long and wide pants together with the tracksuit shirt from Résumé. I am already looking forward to summer so I can wear my chanel sandals again. They are just beautiful!

THIGH HIGH SLIT

english: I would like to start of by commenting on how high the slit in this skirt is! Jesus christ! It’s not for kids or drunk people – is that how the saying goes? It’s high, thats for sure. I love the beautiful colors in this outfits and the kitten heels. It’s inspired by Laura, I’m sure. It must be!

ALL ABOUT THE FRILL

english: There is nothing like a simple summer outfit. During the summer months I am always loving a simple color pallet – it’s so nice and calm while the nature is blooming with color around you. Light blue is always a favorite of mine and I remember how much I loved this shirt because of it’s big frill detail on the top and it’s asymmetrical bottom. A light blue top doesn’t have to be a boring choice at all.

Dress / Zara, Shoes / Tibi

CANDY FACTORY

english: This is probably my favorite look from all of 2017 – I wore this dress so much that I almost missed it when it needed a wash. I bought it in Greece. It was also in Greece that I “discovered” this hair-do. I totally fell in love with this sleek ballerina bun and I have used it a lot since. If I should do a style recap of 2017 this is what I would say defined it for me. This is what I felt best in.

I am wearing:
Pyjamas shirt / Yolke (shop here)

I dag vil jeg vise jer hvordan jeg laver min go to “low messy bun”.

english: Hey everybody! I am back with yet another tutorial – it seems that you guys like theses so I have decided to do more of them. Today I wanna show you how I do my go to low messy bun. It quickly becomes a very easy hairdo once you have done it a couple of times. I wear my hair like this on mondays and to parties. It’s super versatile. I have made a step by step guide down below. Enjoy!

Step 1
Prepping the hair

Products used:
Hydrating styling creme / Moroccan oil (shop here), Grip spray / Lernberger Stafsing (shop here)

Prepping the hair is one of the most important steps when doing a hairdo. I always used to underestimate this step because “how important can it be?” – well as it turns out, quite. So for this look first what I do is I smooth the ends of my hair. I use Moroccan oil’s hydrating styling creme and just run my fingers over my hair. Second I use a grip spray also known as a dry shampoo. I LOVE using dry shampoo because it kinda gives you the option of molding your hair into place without the stiffness of hairspray. I lift the crown of my hair and spray it into the routs. Remember to let the product sit for a while before you continue. That way it’s easier to work with.

Step 2
Parting the hair

Products used:
See through hair ties / Asos (shop here)

Now this step you might not find totally necessary once you have the next step completely down but it’s good for beginners. Part your hair from just over your ears and up. I like to use these almost invisible hair ties, they are easy to use and really keeps the pony in place. If you havn’t tried them yet, please do, they will change your life.

Step 2
Roll and tug

Products used:
Hairpins

Now this part is a bit tricky to explain but I am going to give it a go anyway. So the key to the low bun is actually to create “a bun”. So what I like to do is start at the ends of my hair and using two hands, simply roll up. When you have a shape you like place two hairpins inside the roll, one on each side to hold it in place. You might need more than two, so just place them within the roll where you see fit. As long as it’s secure you are good to go on to the next step.

Step 3
Secure with hairclip
Hairclip / Pico (shop here)

Securing your chosen hairclip just over the top of the bun is how I like to do it. I like these large slender hairclips from Pico, they are easy to use and you can fit a lot of hair in them. Finish the look by pulling out random strands of hair and you are done. Don’t worry about it being too perfect. It’s not supposed to be.

Thank you for tuning in
