Derefter kommer Marc Jacobs beauty’s new nudes, i Hey stranger.

english: To me, Los Angeles has always been a “nude lip” kinda city. When I think of the L.A beauty scene, the first thing that comes to mind is salty hair, long lashes and nude lips. Therefore, I have collected some of my favorite nude L.A shades for you guys! My 4 favorites consist of L’oréal Paris’ classic color riche, in a color that I believe to be the perfect nude. Nr. 800, Fairest nude. It’s the perfect combination of brown and red, not too beige and not too berry. Just a classic, very beautiful nude color that suits most. Secondly, Marc Jacobs beauty’s new nudes in the shade, Hey stranger. A deep brownish red, nude color that is the same color as many peoples lips naturally are. It’s also perfect as a little cheek stain. Number three is a milk chocolate colored, delicious, creamy lipstick from NYX. The shade is called Rea and it a true “nude” – very heavy on the brown and yellow undertones which is absolutely stunning with the right makeup. The fourth and last of my current favorites is from the brand, Butter London. The shade is called Smitten, (ADORABLE!). A really pretty berry nude with tons of pink undertones. Creates a very pretty, natural lip and is a perfect match for a minimalistisk makeup.

VIDEO MADE IN COLLABORATION WITH
SEBASTIAN PROFESSIONAL

Twisted line here

english: I have been so lucky to get the opportunity to test and talk about Sebastian Professional’s new curl series, twisted, in my latest youtube video. It is a part of my job to test products and I see it as a true privilege that I get to share my experiences with you. If you are so lucky to have been born with a curly mane like myself, you have probably searched far and wide for products to help with the many issues we face. The frizz, the hold, the dryness, the definition and omg I could go on forever. Therefore we (the curly haired people) also try out a lot of products during our life until we find what is perfect for our hair. Sebastian Professional’s new line, twisted, is made with Flexi Alg™ Complex. Now you are like, “and that is?”. Don’t worry I will fill you in. Sebastian Professional has visited the deep blue sea and discovered that algae is super flexible and capable of holding moisture in a way that is very unique. This new technology can help curls hold it’s bounce better than ever. In my latest video I film my very first impression of these new products and test them on both natural curls and curls made with an iron. So from one curly girly to another, I hope you will enjoy this video.

THIS IS PARADISE

IN COLLABORATION WITH L’ORÉAL PARIS

You know?

english: If I am something, I am a mascara girl. Always have been. You probably know that mascara’s are something I especially like to test and write about because a good mascara is alpha and omega. Simply. This mascara has been all over social media for a while. Something that have annoyed me sooo much because it wasn’t available in Denmark until now so finally I got my hands on it. I have been so excited to try it! Very first impression – HAPPY with the brush. I like long bristles, they simply work best with my long lashes. No clumps please! Next comes to formula, which is obviously the most important. I mean, if the formula is bad the brush can’t save much you know? Again, I clapped my little hands. It’s silky smooth and glides on evenly and easy. The formula add’s a good length, not too much but not too little either. It was easily build on the lashes and the long bristles kept the lashes apart. Even after several layers. One happy Maria! Another thing I want to quickly applaud is the packaging. Thank you L’oréal for not making it neon green and hot pink – it’s simply impossible to make beautiful content with a product that looks like The Hulk and Barbie’s love child. I love the rosegold. It’s beautiful. Standing ovation.

JETLAG ASSIST | MASK ATTACK

Pure clay anti blemish mask / L’oréal Paris (shop here), Wild rose mask / Korres (shop here), Nutritious radiant mask / Estée Lauder (shop here), Purifying mask / Kiehl’s (shop here), Cucumber tonic mask / Mario Badescu (shop here)

Location: Los Angeles

Why is that?

english: Jet lag is one of the weirdest things in the world, you wan’t to sleep all the time but then you can’t. What’s up with that? To fly is really hard for the skin in the first place. I mean, you can almost feel the moisture just run away from your face. And so, it doesn’t really help when you can’t find your rest afterwards. Therefore, I am a huge fan of masks! Actually I am always a big fan of masks but especially when I have been in the air. I gathered my current favorites plus an explanation to why, below. Enjoy!

Pure clay anti blemish mask
L’oréal masks have always been some of my favorite but their newest release has made the top of my list. Not only do you look like a super hero when you put it on but it also does the job. Calming, curing and refreshing. I love it!
Mask by L’oréal Paris

Wild rose mask
The smell of roses always remind me of my grandmother. I adore this mask from Korres, it’s soft and soothing. I love masks that just melt into your skin and this one certainly does. It works best on me when I sleep with it and wash it off in the morning.
Mask by Korres

Nutritious radiant mask
This two step mask is pure wonder. Follow the instructions and go get great skin! It’s just wonderful.
Mask by Estée Lauder

Purifying mask
A mask that has been a favorite of mine since 2015. It’s a must have for me. It helps the skin fight pollution, calms it and smooths it. I sleep with it and have even mixed it in with my daily moisturizer for every day wear. It’s genius to apply makeup on top of actually. Try it!
Mask by Kiehl’s

Cucumber tonic mask
This mask is actually not for my skin type. I am dry and sensitive and this mask is more for combined and oily skin. But it stills works wonders for me. It minimizes the pores and the cucumber really cools the skin. An absolutely wonderful product.
Mask by Mario Badescu

Lovechild 1979 SS18 show during Copenhagen fashionweek

Kun få man virkelig husker.

english: I was so lucky to attend many wonderful shows during Copenhagen Fashionweek, but somehow it’s only few that stand out. Only few you want to know more about. Only few you love. Lovechild hosted their show at an absolutely breathtaking location. The models almost floated as they walked the stairs above us. The whole show was a visual treat, everything from the location to the hair and makeup – Lovechild really connected the dots. L’oréal Paris’ genius key makeup artist Sine Ginsborg created this warm golden makeup look for the show and I was lucky enough to get a quick Q & A with both her and Anne-Dorthe Larsen who is creative director behind Lovechild 1979. Enjoy!

Q & A
Inspiration?

ADL: “ I wanted to keep the SS18 collection playful and quirky, but with a grown up sensibility as well. The collection suits the Scandi-cool woman on the go, who after a day of multitasking, bike-riding from one meeting to another and making her voice heard, just wants to go out for a drink with her girl squad. The styles have an urban quality to them but the fabrics are lush tweeds and luxurious silks, quaint prints and pretty woven flowers. It is eclectic without being farfetched in its references.”

SG: “I feel in love with all the colors – and the striped pants! The collection is so abundantly rich with texture and details, I wanted to keep the makeup subtle yet impactful. So you have the strong, a nicely hightlighted T-zone, a taupe shading of the eyelids and defined lashes. The leitmotif became the Fanta-colored nail polish that we both love. It was applied to the nails on both hands and feet. This made for a nice, feminine touch to the sporty sandals and a feisty splash of color against all the various prints.”

DIY tips?

ADL: “Make the pieces work for you! I always design with the intention that you should be able to mix and match all the styles. They should suit your mood and body type not the designer’s mind. You can accentuate the waist with the drawstring dresses or keep a more lose, romantic silhouette. You can wear the pants under your dress or a hoodie beneath the tailored jackets. Comfort and functionality are key as is the longevity of the pieces. The styles should always function as color pops in your wardrobe for many years to come.”

SG: “Tone down the highlights. Limit them to being subtle features on your cheekbones and cupid bow. Keep a strong brow. You want to get your hands on the Brow Artist Plumber – I use it every day and it works wonders on unruly as well as barely-there brows.”

From daywear to evening attire?

ADL: “Add a pair of heels and ease up on the layering”

SG: “Add lipstick! I’d go for the Color Riche in Perfect Red

5 SHADES OF NUDE

Essie Polish
1. Merino cool 2. Master plan 3. Spin the bottle 4. Clothing optional 5. Lady like

Who knows. I think so. God fornøjelse!

english: When you are what I would almost call a “nude polish collector” you can end up with more than a few in storage. And they just lay there, looking at you every time you open the lid to the box “pick me pick me”. That’s what I imagine anyway, maybe they are all “not me not me” because they don’t want to have the color sucked out of them? No one knows. I want to use all my polishes more so I have tried different ways to “style” them using more than one color. My favorite combo right now is this “5 shades of nude” look where I have taken my favorite nude shades (at the moment) and used one color on each nail. I quite like it myself, I was even stopped at my local supermarket by a lady who would love to know who did my nails. I unfortunately had to let her down by telling her I did them myself. But of course any salon can do the same look. I think so anyway? Enjoy!

FLAMENCO RED LIP

L’oréal Paris / Lip paint matte in 103 red (shop here), Nars x Charlotte Gainsbourg / Lip tint in double decker (shop here), Lancôme Paris / Le lip liner in 396 insta rose (shop here)

Earrings / Sweet Deluxe (shop here)

english: The spanish women are such an inspiration to me when it comes to hair and makeup. Everywhere I look I see red lips, long nails, statement hair and pitch black lashes. Two days ago I saw an absolutely stunning poster of a flamenco dancer with a sleek ballerina bun and glossy red lips – I instantly fell in love and wanted to recreate the look myself. Starting by outlining the lips but not too perfect. Then using the matte lip paint from L’oréal Paris to create the perfect dept and base for the gloss. We don’t want it to run anywhere. Finishing off with a almost vinyl glossy product from the new Nars x Charlotte Gainsbourg collaboration. Top it off with some loud earrings and lots of hairspray. Enjoy!

Everything here is beige, white and brown – a real instagram miracle. The new Coco family bronze collection from Marc Jacobs is kept in white and looks beautiful, summery and fresh so it fits perfectly. I kept my look simple with a touch of glitter on the eyelids, everything in brown in stead of black to give a soft summer feel to the face. Freckles are optional but I can’t keep mine of my face in this greek sun. Enjoy!

THAT’S HOW WE ROLL

Location: Copenhagen

english: Ah yes, the power of mascara, that is exactly what I am going to address today. Mascara is no joke, it can really make or break a look in my opinion. And to many people it is a very important part of life. As you can see I look totally different without mascara, my eyelashes are whiter than snow and to be honest I feel very naked without mascara. My “naked eye” is something that I have come to embrace over the years but my favorite eye look always has something to do with mascara. Therefore it is also natural for me to open my mouth when a good mascara is on the market and indeed my mouth is wide open this time! A girls mascara is very personal, often we find one we like (after what feels like years of searching) and then we stick with it. We know how it works, we know how it looks and we know it’s great and thats the end of that. BUT there is a new mascara in town, the new Miss Baby Roll from L’oréal Paris. If you, like me, like your lashes both long and voluminous – you should give it a go. The new brush technology ensures that the lashes are attached in a perfect curve so you won’t need your lash curler or any other tools to get perfect lashes. I am a big fan! You can see my try the mascara without having curled my lashes first down below – enjoy!

Hej I dejlige!

english: Hello lovelies! The wonderful sommer weather deserves a little shoutout from here in the form of a makeup look. My ideas for tutorials often appear when I change my daily makeup look and then I feel like I have something new to share with you guys. When the sun hits the sky I get a ton of freckles. Running from one ear, over the nose and to the other ear. The strength of the color in my freckles vary a lot from day to day and therefore I love to give them a helping hand sometimes. So if you don’t get any freckles at all and you want some, this is for you too! All the steps will be done in english below so everyone can follow, enjoy!

Step 1

In the summer I like to wear a very natural and almost transparent base. I mix one of my all time favorite foundations from Nimue with a great sunscreen from Kiehl’s. It’s a very light, dewy base that fits the hot days perfectly. If you only wish to wear sunscreen this one from Kiehl’s also has just a touch of color to it so you can use it to cover any uneven areas you might have. But I like to mix it, for me it gives the best result.

Here using:
Foundation / Nimue (call for retailer +45 33 32 33 22), Sunscreen / Kiehl’s (shop here)

Step 2

Let the light meet the dark! Sounds so dramatic but it’s kinda true in this scenario. To lightly conceal my under eyes I am using the YSL beauty touche éclat and to enhance my features I use the Benefit’s hoola contour stick. I love how it’s like sun on the face but shaped as a stick! I start with concealer to map out the light on my face and then I go in with the stick where I feel I need it. You know your own face best so do it as you feel fits your features. Bronze away my queens!

Here using:
Concealer / YSL beauty (shop here), Contour stick / Benefit (shop here)

Step 3

It’s it wonderful how you can buy glow? I am a huge fan of that concept – it’s pure genius. On my brow bone, the bridge of my nose and my chin I use L’oréal’s glam beige healthy glow powder and to create a killer combo I finish the skin of with a generous amount of pearly highlighter on my cheekbones. This one is from Becca.

Here using:
Glam beige healthy glow powder / L’oréal Paris (shop here), Pressed highlighter in pearl / Becca (shop here)

Step 4

Eyes, eyes and more eyes! It makes all the difference, especially for me who has blonde eyebrows and lashes. For this look I went all brown, using two L’oréal favorites of mine. The volume million lashes in brown and the Infallible eyeliner (also in brown). The reason why I choose to go all loco with the coco is because freckles will always have a brown and/or golden undertone to them and I wanted to match them with the rest of the makeup. It also creates a much softer look in the summer sun.

Here using:
Mascara and Eyeliner / L’oréal Paris (shop here and here)

Step 5

I know it’s actually possible to buy “freckle sticks” in stores but I don’t see why you can’t just use something you already have in your makeup bag. I like to use my eyebrow pencils to create the extra freckles. Not just because I already have them and therefore don’t need to buy yet another product but also because I know they will match my skin tone. Because they kinda already do, I mean the color sits above my eyes. I use two different colors, first I use the liquid eyebrow tint from & other stories and make tiny dots from one ear to the other. This tint is slightly darker than my own freckles and creates a nice base. Next I take my Anastasia brow wiz pencil in taupe and I make slightly bigger dots right next to the other dots I just made. If you don’t know where to place the freckles, find a photo of someone who has freckles and notice how randomly their freckles are placed. It’s important to create a mess – a natural mess. If the freckles are too perfect it will look fake. I also tap a few on the side of my nose between my eyes because I also have freckles on my eyelids and I want them all to melt together into a non perfect but perfect mess. You know what I mean?

Here using:
Eyebrow tint / & other stories (shop here), Brow wiz / Anastasia Beverly Hills (shop here)

Step 6

Dab, dab, dab! For this look I like to gently dab over my new freckles when I am done drawing them. This makes them a little matte, instantly appearing more natural. Don’t over due this step though or you might just have to draw on all of the freckles again. Carefull roll the beauty blender over your nose and press on the cheeks – it helps to smile while you do it!

Here using:
Beauty blender (shop here)

Step 7

Ahh the lips, perhaps the most important! It’s kinda like putting a perfect bow on a perfect present! I choose a orangy nude’ish color for this look. I love these liquid lip cremes from Marc Jacobs beauty – such a nice finish. I am crazy about this color! I think it would be lovely on all girls, regardless of skin or hair color!

Here using:
Le Marc liquid lip crème in Yours to try / Marc Jacobs beauty (shop here)

Step 8

SMILE! You look wonderful!
Thank you for tuning in.
