VITA LIBERATA TAN

IMG_5837 IMG_5838

All products from Vita Liberata
Self Tan Mousse (shop here), Gradual Lotion (shop here), Marula dry oil (shop here)

Location: Old Phuket Town

Happy tanning!

english: While I have been in Thailand I have gotten some help on the skin color front, I can’t really get tanned all by my self, I guess it’s a redhead thing, if I put a lot of time in it I might get slightly golden but it’s a process that the summer is not long enough for. I have also learned that if I get a spraytan before a vacation I won’t get burned like I have been so many times before, not because a spraytan substitutes for sunscreen (because that is not the case!) but it can help you if you are very sensitive to the sun, try it, it has helped me many times. Anyway, a spraytan like the one I got from Vita Liberata before heading to Thailand does not last forever so I have used the products above to keep it alive while also keeping up my SPF. Vita Liberata’s Marula oil has SPF 50 but also just a little bit of self tan so you can gradually built a tan and keep yourself protected, a product I have used a lot on my trip. Besides that I have used their SPF 50 on my face, they have so many awesome products, if you don’t really know Vita Liberata you can check them out here. Happy tanning!

Stay tuned.

english: After a rainy (and slightly wavy) boat ride from Phi Phi to Phuket we have finally arrived in Old Phuket Town – a place I have been very much looking forward to visiting. It’s known for it’s colorful facades and quirky little streets with many cute and unique shops. We arrived late afternoon yesterday and we have spend the entire day today taking photos to our blogs, there is so much to photograph and so many awesome locations for outfits, I should have brought more clothes! HA! jokes – I brought clothes with me to fit a month (at least) I knew there would be so many awesome backgrounds, streets, houses and so on. All hotels we have stayed at have asked why I have so much luggage. Tomorrow we are already on the road again, this time to our last stop – an airport hotel – we fly super early Thursday so it just makes more sense. I got my hair braided today BTW, I can’t wait to show you tomorrow. Stay tuned.

english: Phi Phi has taken me by storm, at this point I am certain that I could stay here forever. Holiday Inn resort has truly been an experience, I have traveled to many places in the world, stayed at countless hotels, expensive and cheap but non of them has been quite like this. Besides from the fact that Phi Phi island is breathtaking, the resort is something else. I have felt very much at home these last few days, something that is not easy for me to feel as I am not very comfortable in new surroundings. The staff is funny, kind and helpful – but not in the typical robotic way, no, in the way that feels like they really care about you and it just shines all the way through the resort. From the gardener to the front desk service there are just smiles everywhere – not a frown in sight. The outdoor space is so well maintained – not even a leaf will be in your way, they are sweeped up immediately, even when it’s windy. The bungalows are spacious, clean and decorated with good taste, everything here is super photo friendly (important!), kept in black and cream so the green palm trees and the blue ocean can really stand out, the architecture of the place really suits the nature which I really admire, very few hotels and resorts succeed in complimenting their surroundings. You can choose several room types, if you want to stay right on the beach like we did you can choose a beachfront bungalow (the last photo was our beach bungalow), or you can climb higher and choose sea view or if you like a bit of a jungle feel you can stay at the amazing garden view bungalows. Also the food at the resort is great, you can get really good classic thai food but also western cuisine if you are more in the mood for a clubsandwich, I never eat pizza or burgers when in Asia because I just love the local food but I tried it to compare (for you of course) and they make great western food as well – and I am picky with my food! They also have choices for vegetarians and even vegans. Other than that they have an infinity pool, a great gym, a spa, tons of activities and the most beautiful beach I have ever seen – so many things to say about this place so what I will say; just do it – it’s worth every penny.

english: I am so happy with our time at the resort, right now I am not sure I ever want to get of this island. Phi Phi is amazing, the resort is beautiful and the people here are just the nicest. Yesterday Sebastian and I got our asses kicked in Muay Thai class by the super skilled and awesome personal trainers at the resort, after, we swam to cool down and I ended the day with a 2 hour massage, I wish everyday could be like that. Today the sun shined bright so I have taken alot of photos of the resort that I will show you tomorrow when vi depart from Phi Phi  and return to the mainland again. Sniffles!

english: Today we have arrived at Phi Phi island where we, until monday, will be spending our days at the beautiful Holiday Inn resort. I went total snapchat crazy when we arrived, everything is so beautiful here and the resort is so instagram friendly (thank god!) – the water is breathtaking and the sunset was excatly like in the movies – isn’t that why so many people come here? We have our own beach bungalow right on the beach, it’s very luxurious – I am very much looking forward to exploring the place tomorrow but a tiny yoga class or two wont hurt nobody! Stay tuned for more updates on this magical place.

Stay tuned.

english: It is SO hot here, you have no idea! And my hair is really taking in the humidity – afro everywhere. Just like when Monica (from friends) went to Barbados and her hair just got gigantic – thats me, “it’s the humidity!” but I knew this would happen, just a tiny bit of rain in Denmark makes my hair as big as an oversize umbrella. So far we haven’t had much sun but it actually works quite well (picture wise) and the giant rains are just so fascinating! Oh and I love how here is no tourists, it’s kinda liberating. Tomorrow we are headed for Phi Phi – stay tuned!

english: We are finally here, many hours of traveling and we have arrived. We got so delayed in Copenhagen that we missed our original flight to Phuket, so we had to spend some hours at a hotel in Doha and we just landed this morning, oh well shit happens, we are now at Kata Beach our first stop. Eventhough the sky is a little grey we are just so excited to explore and take a lot of photos, remember you can follow our day on snapchat; mariajernov.

CABIN BEAUTY

IMG_0777

english: How my hand luggage is packed and what I remember to take with my aboard is kinda what makes or breaks the trip for me. Especially when it comes to beauty, I need some very specific items to survive a long flight – so here are my must haves aboard!

1. Hand sanitizer
Oh gosh ew! Everything in the airport and on the plane is ew, so many people touching everything that you touch all the time – I am not usually very focused on germs (my friends would actually call me quite the pig) but at the airport I am suddenly very aware of the amount of people present and therefore also the germs!
Dr. Bronner, Hand sanitizer, shop here

2. Dry spots
What is up with these? Why do you suddenly get a dry patch on your face, arm or leg when you are on a plane? Sometimes my chin just dries up like a raisin so I always carry a very heavy cream to get me through these situations.
Egyptian Magic, Skin cream, shop here

3. Clean mouth
If you are on a overnight flight it can be nice to brush your teeth in the “morning”, gives you that fresh feeling.
Bamboo toothbrush, shop here

4. Care package
Cue tips, nail file and cotton pads – this little package is a life savor! How else are you going to remove mascara dust from under your eyes or fix a broken nail – I usually find these at hotels and bring them with me or I make a little care package from home with the essentials.

5. Sleep tight
Some people just don’t get that when it gets dark in the cabin you should turn your light off too! It’s nap time partner, take a hint! A sleep mask always saves my butt and this one is to die for!
Yolke at Fulldisclosureluxe.com, Eyemask, shop here

6. Kiss me quick
Maybe the cabin pressure makes your lips dry or you sit next to a cute guy but whatever the reason a good lip balm is a must, this lavender scented beauty is my forever favorite!
Badeanstalten, Lip balm, shop here

7. Dry clean
A greasy scalp can happen to anybody who is in and out of planes and airports so just take this little helper with you and you will be just fine, I promise.
Colab, Dry shampoo, shop here

8. Bright eyes
The only makeup I bring with me aboard is a concealer, it can fix anything from tired eyes to a sudden pimple who appeared out of the blue (you know it was that plane food).
Nars, Radiant creamy concealer, shop here

9. Hydration central
A good hand creme is great to use after you have sanitized all the germs away! Keep you soft and smooth for the whole flight and it smells great!
Psst.. Karmameju has a whole section on their website for travel size only!
Karmameju, Chill hand and bodylotion, shop here

10. Bag it up
Last but certainly not least of course you need a pretty little cabin makeup bag to keep your emergency kit in place.
Adax, Makeup clutch, shop here

22 Milano (find here)

english: When the rain is pouring down and you have absolutely nothing to do – there is only one place to go in Milan and it is to 22 Milano. The café is cozy yet kept in a cool scandinavian pallet with a twist of soft wood and raw concrete floors. They serve the most amazing coffee and cakes and the waiters are just the nicest. Warning; you order the tiramisu once and you will keep coming back for more. The café is located at: Via Principe Amedeo, 2 – you won’t regret it! Enjoy.
