BOTANICALS IN PARIS

Attending the Botanicals fresh care launch in Paris

english: It’s not often I tell the whole story of a product. Actually it’s quite rare that I go into details about what it does and how it works. Mostly because I dont want to write a novel and I know you who really want to know about the specifics will look them up yourself. Sometimes what you need is just for someone to say yes or no to a product – of course always with my own opinion at heart. That’s what I am here for. But an exception must be made when someone goes that extra mile. High fives must be handed out – and that I what I intend to do in this blogpost. I am currently in Paris with L’oréal attending the launch of their newest green baby “Botanicals fresh care”. A series of products that I have been looking forward to sharing with you as it is totally unique! I am not vegan, nor am I very good at sorting my trash and I always buy with my heart and not so much with the green side of my brain. Which I should I know. BUT this is why I think it’s absolutely amazing when a huge corporation like L’oréal launches a product line like this. A product line that cares for the earth we live on, a product line with packaging made of 100% recycled plastic, a line that is paraben, silicone and colorant free and last but not least a product line created closely with the farmers who harvest the key ingredients to secure high quality material at all time. If that does not deserve a mentioning I dont know what does . High fives all around to corporations who take responsibility. Botanicals contains 4 different series each custommade to cover 4 different hair needs and of course with the use of 4 different key ingredients. Botanicals is available NOW and if you want to know more about the product lines you can have a look here. Enjoy!

english: What a wonderful weather we had yesterday! Just created the perfect picture opportunities! We bloggers always claim it’s best to photograph when it’s cloudy but I must admit I love the soft winter light. Tomorrow I am leaving for Paris with L’oréal for yet another super exciting launch! I can’t wait to show you what it is – you are going to love it! Meet my newest shirt obsession btw, I am so crazy about it! See how the stripes goes in different direction but in such a subtle way? Ah bliss! I have lived in it for weeks. I will soon return with news from Paris but until then remember you can always find me on instagram and snapchat where I will be updating constantly (@mariajernov) hugs to you!

Colorista launch in Stockholm with L’oréal Paris

 Location: Stockholm

english: My travel season has officially been kicked off! First stop was Stockholm yesterday with the L’oréal Paris team as we celebrated the launch of their new hair coloring universe, Colorista! A mixture of different coloring solutions such as semi permanent color, permanent color and also these amazing sprays that wash out after only one wash! I did a live stream on the danish L’oréal facebook page so if you want to see how I got blue stripes in my hair, go check that out! It turned out pretty cool. All the nordics were represented at the event, we had a masterclass in hair dyeing, got to spray some longboards with spray paint and so many other things I can’t list them all, it was so much fun! Today we are just going to work alittle, then have a quick lunch and home we go again. Next week – Paris!

Kom bare an vinter!

english: Ouch its cold outside – thank god for huge coats! When I was in high school I hated the cold because it meant that I had to wear my big winter coat, and that is even though I had a really nice one from Hugo Boss with real fur trim. I just didn’t like wearing it because I always had the hardest time styling it. I always felt that the coat came with me and not the other way around. That mindset has been with me ever since but then I saw this Yves Salomon coat. I decided to break the pattern! It can be done! The trick for me has been not to wear anything too tight with it. A pair of stocking for example would not have been suitable for me because I would almost achieve a bell shape with long dangly legs beneath it. That looks weird man. So I choose a pair of loose leather trousers and a big knit to compliment the volume of the coat. And of course some awesome boots. Come at me vinter!

Hurraaa!

english: Hurraaaayyy! This very week it’s exactly 1 year since I started my own company and went full time on the blog. I didn’t really think I would have my own company at the age of 22. To be honest I haven’t ever dreamed of running my own business, maybe someone else’s but never my own. But I restarted the blog because I felt like I really had something to say, something to show you guys so when it was time for me to leave ELLE I just thought “why not?”. It was a very strange first day at my “new job”. And as I sat there on the couch in my living room I just thought “what the hell have you gotten yourself into now?”. I did although find great comfort in the fact that my dad has run his own business for years and in the fact that he can answer any question I come with. And that is even though he has absolutely no ties to the danish fashion industry. I promised my self not to be to hard on my self (which I have a tendency to be) in the sense that I didn’t set any economical goals for my self. Only in the way that if I could pay rent the next month then I could try for another. It’s been a year and the blog is doing better than ever. Thank you so much to all of you who tune in to read, it means the world to me and I am so excited to take on another year.

english: One of the most popular trends in the vinter of 2016 / 2017 – off shoulder bomber jacket that gives you longer sleeves, therefore a more artsy look with fashionista tendencies. Many did it already last summer with white mens shirts but then Balenciaga showed the red jacket in an off shoulder styling on the fall / winter 2016 catwalk – and that made the trend explode all over the winter wardrobes as well. To follow this trend you jacket doesn’t need to be red, it doesn’t even have to be a bomber. It has been done with long woolen coats, short jackets, blazers – you name it. Try for yourself but be aware that you will not be able to reach things on the high shelf and you probably can’t hold your own coffee either. Enjoy!

Hvad mener i?

english: My mother always says, that a little rouge and some lip color goes a long way. As you have probably noticed I am crazed for lip colors, a good lipstick is like a drug to me. In the beginning of the 2000’sns (does that make sense?) it was quite popular to smear foundation across your face (lips included) or to wear a very nude lipstick. Then came a rebellious move in the other direction as lips couldn’t be big enough or bold enough – now it seems that the trend of “nude” is back. Better than ever in my opinion. King Kylie has definitely had a big part of the returning of the trend. I love this lip color “undressed” from Anastasia. It’s super pigmented which means you can dress it up or tone it down. What do you feel? Shall the beige/nude look have it’s return or should be give it 10 more years?

english: Danes know exactly what this is, hygge. Which is why I haven’t bothered writing a danish text to this post. Ya’ll know that this is about! You might have heard it before – it’s that word that is impossible to pronounce and there is not really an explanation for it. It’s just a way of life. “Hyue-gar,” “hoog-jar” or “hoo-gah” is kinda what it sounds like, but what does it really mean then? Hygge is cuddling on the couch with hot coca and your favorite person, hygge is brushing your teeth with your loved ones, hygge is sharing comfort food with your friends (just like I do every sunday). Hygge is watching your favorite movie alone. Hygge is a way of life, and is said to be the reason why Danes are the happiest people on the planet. Now I don’t know about that, I would say we are famously grouchy. BUT it is about staying in, being cozy in your surroundings. That has translated into a whole interior trend, one I forecast to be a big one in 2017! I have gathered some photos above to show you what hygge in interior could look like and below some favorites for styling your home!

Trunk bag in large Marni, Key wallet / Prada (shop here), Lipstick in “peppermint pop” / Clinique (shop here)

english: Let’s keep surfing on the red wave, I have acquired a few things for my red wardrobe. One of the things is this oversized Marni trunk bag that I am very excited to style. I must be honest, I never thought I would get it in large. I always thought that when the day came I would buy a trunk bag that I would get it in small, maybe medium. I considered the medium. But then, there is was, big, red and beautiful! I am thinking blue jeans or maybe a cheeky yellow dress, it’s gonna be great! Sebastian gave me the little key wallIet from Prada for Christmas, something I had really wished for. Another red item for the collection. I can’t wait to style the bag for fashionweek.

It looks awesome!

english: I was looking over my streetstyle images from 2016 and instantly noticed that I have rocked a lot of red details through out the year. It’s not a secret that I have a thing for red, maybe mostly because I was always told that red-haired girls can’t wear red. Hell they can! I love both completely red outfits but also a red bag or just a red lip. In 2017 I am wishing for a red sweatshirt (preferably vestments) and a pair of red Gucci loafers. I dream of them in crocodile but to be honest those need some serious saving. I have gathered some more red favorites down below. I am not yet done with my red romance, why would I be? It looks awesome!
