THE GETTY

Hat / LA RAMS, Blazer / Own design, Hoodie / YSMN, Shorts / Pieszak, Sneakers / Yeezy 350

Location: The Getty Center, Los Angeles, California
Photos taken with iPhone 8

Ah yes, The Getty, a place I have always wanted to see but never really made time to see. You know those places? I have a whole book of them. In the whole world actually but for LA, the list is long. I still have to go hike in the Malibu mountains, drive down Mulholland drive, do some sort of horse back riding and so much MUCH more. Not to mention all the restaurants I have not yet eaten at. I feel like I discover new ones everyday. It’s almost stressful (tough I know).

You can’t photograph inside The Getty because, well, it’s filled with Picasso, Rembrandt and more but the outside is just as breathtaking. Sitting on a hill just of Sunset Blvd, The Getty shines over looking Los Angeles in all it’s glory. White tile, majestic shapes and pillars everywhere. It is an architectural masterpiece and a true pleasure to wander around there for hours. They also have The Getty gardens below on the hill and also here does perfection shine through. I highly recommend visiting this landmark, if not for the art, for the photo possibilities and amazing views.

TIP | THE CANAL CLUB

The Canal Club
At the Scott resort and spa
4925 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, Arizona
Read more here

Okay just to be clear, I am coming back here – not just for the food, the decor, the drinks – but purely because of the surroundings. OMG I have rarely been a place that was so beautiful, comfortable and just chic. It was heaven. The Canal Club is a cuban inspired restaurant inside of the Scott resort and spa located in Scottsdale, Arizona. I went there to escape the rain LA had to offer and decided the desert would be a suitable place to run, and boy was I right.

I felt transported back to Bali with the crazy beautiful spaces, the outdoor gardens and the amazing food at The Canal Club. I had the cub salad two days in a row (yes I went there twice in 4 days), it was excellent, and so was the cuban sandwich and the tuna tostadas – yum! The Canal Club is also Arizona famous for their AMAZING cocktails, but should there be nothing on their large drink menu that suits your taste – the spa resort it self also has an amazing bar with even more amazing drinks.

I have decided to return in a couple of months and maybe this time with a full review of their rooms, the spa and more Canal Club. Stay tuned.

On the road again! I can’t believe I have already been here for 3 months, it’s insane how time flies. Why is it no one tells you that as a child? If I could I would tell younger me to appreciate how far away Christmas seemed all the time, and how loooong away my birthday always was in my mind. Cause now, a year is over as soon as I blink my eyes. It’s insane. It’s almost Christmas again and I will be in Copenhagen once again. This time staying with my bestie B. I can’t wait to see her again, she is one of those people I feel best seeing at least every two days. That’s a bit hard when I am here and she is there. But someday, we’ll be neighbors, our kids will play together and our husbands will be the best of friends. We’ve already agreed on that.

These photos were taken at one of my favorite places in LA, the Disney Concert Hall. An architectural wonder if you ask me and definitely worth the ride to downtown. My dad took me there when we visited LA together and even though I had at that point been to LA many times, I never saw it and now every time I drive by it, it makes me miss him. He always has the best eye for beauty and he has thought me to see it in just about anything.

It will be so nice to spend almost a total of 5 weeks in Denmark and then return to LA again in January. I will once again be flying with my favorite pink airline WOW air. I leave today and can’t wait to be in the air once again, they always spoil me rotten with big seats and lots of food. It’s so nice. If you need to visit LA in the new year, be sure to check out WOW air’s amazing prices here.

Thank you for tuning in friends, I’ll be back once I’m home in Denmark again.

WHERE TO IN 2019

IN COLLABORATION WITH WOW AIR

When the year comes to an end, one of my favorite things to think about for the new year is “where will I travel?”. Obviously there are an insane amount of places I still want to see, I mean even though I am and have been extremely privileged – I’m just still so hungry for the world.

I have been so lucky in 2018 to travel to some amazing places. China had been on the top of my list for YEARS, walking on that wall was a memory for life and I finally got to see Bali. I spent time in Cannes with my best girlfriends and I got to return to LA once again. And that’s just some of the travels I did.

Lately I’ve had this idea of seeing Australia again, I went there for 5 weeks when I was 12 cause we are so lucky to have family there but since that’s over 10 years ago (omg right) – I’d love to go again. What I’d really like to combine it with is my next trip to Bali and when I say next I mean next cause boy am I going back there. There are very few places that I just must go back to. So far in my life I have ever only felt that way about Los Angeles, but after visiting Bali I am afraid the same thing has happened to me. I guess it’s kinda the same feeling about movies right? Some you say, “wow great movie, but I need some time before I watch it again” or “It was wonderful but I don’t think I will need to watch it again” and then there are just some that make you go “I’ll watch that again tomorrow” cause they are just that good. So far, Los Angeles is my “pretty woman” and Bali is my “eat pray love” – actually never thought about those both being Julia Roberts movies, strange.

But! New years are also for new places, and there are many of those too, I’d like to see. On the list is currently, Hawaii, Mexico (many places in Mexico), the Caribbean, a roadtrip in Italy, Tokyo or Hong Kong (or both) and Canada. Canada is quite different than the others I admit, but I have always wanted to see Vancouver and there are so many fantastic places to ski in Canada and since I’ve never tried that – it has become a priority. Luckily my always partner-in-crime WOW air has just launched Vancouver as a new destination, read more about it here. They also fly to Montréal and Toronto so basically I am ready to get Canada’fied!

In other news and still speaking of WOW air, they will be opening up their very first route to Asia in 2019 and I am so excited. They will start flying to New Dehli, India – can you believe it? I used to think I never wanted to see India, but as I have gotten older, it moves higher and higher up on my list. I would love to go to New Dehli, drive in the streets, discover their amazing kitchen, see the Taj Mahal in Agra and from there travel to the country side to meditate and stay at one of their amazing healing and spa facilities. Obviously I will still be going back and forth between LA and CPH a lot, it’s like being divided between two, but it’s okay. I love LA just as much as I love my home so I will be boarding that pink plane many times again in 2019. Oh so many dreams and so many places to go, one can only hope to see it all.

TIP | GRACIAS MADRE

Gracias Madre
8905 Melrose Ave, West Hollywood, CA 90069
Read more here

I am back with yet another tip from the city of angels. Maybe someday this blog will just turn into an LA blog – we never know. That’s a joke btw. BUT I wanted to share a tip for a restaurant with you. People who are familiar with LA and especially West Hollywood will probably know it. It’s called Gracias Madre and is a plant based Mexican restaurant that specializes in meat alternatives and brilliant cocktails. It’s the perfect place for a relaxed dinner, you can sit both outside in the courtyard but also inside in the beautifully decorated restaurant. If you appreciate a sense of style, this is definitely the place for you. I wasn’t super impressed with the presentation of the food itself but it was delicious and a good marble table always helps. The crowd was everything from super fancy hollywood’ers to big family enjoying a good meal. It’s reasonably priced and a really cosy place to hang out. Remember to make a reservation – it’s pretty crowded.

My god! How beautiful are these pieces of luggage?! Oh the luxury line, Chartelet, from Delsey is just so yummy! And now they’ve made a new and improved line called the Chartelet Air, a lighter version of the otherwise pretty heavy suitcase series. Leather details, 10 year warranty, hard case exterior and a super power zipper that makes other zippers look like sissy’s. These photos were shot this weekend in my home town of Silkeborg in Jutland. My dear mommy is pretty handy with a camera and helped me take these photos on an early morning. One of my favorite places in Silkeborg is our old iron bridge that goes over the water, a perfect location to shoot these amazing pieces of luggage that are also almost “iron” colored.

This time around, I will be flying off to Los Angeles again to spend the fall there just like I did last year. It’s becoming almost a tradition and something I love to do. Taking me there is of course WOW air and I can’t wait to once again be on one of those big pink airplanes headed towards my favorite pink LA sky. I fly from Copenhagen airport to Iceland tomorrow – and although I normally always prioritize to fly directly I absolutely LOVE the stop in Iceland. Have you ever been to Iceland? IF not, go for the candy (among other things ofc) – BUT the airport is full of it! I always use my 2 hour layover to stock up on my two favorite kinds of Icelandic candy – Pristur and Djúpur! I can’t really explain what it is, but you must try it! They sell them in huge bags and I always look like I freak walking on to the next plane with my arms full of candy but I can’t help it? It’s so amazing! Make sure to pay close attention to my IG stories tomorrow when I fly with WOW air! Can’t wait to be on my way to American once again. Enjoy!

A postcard from London filled with love. Traveling with these red suitcases made me feel like I was carrying around big hearts filled with happiness, which in my opinion suited a trip to London perfectly. London is in many ways a very romantic city. The little townhouses, the politeness of the crowd, the London accent – even the taxis are romantic in their appearance. I mean London is no Paris, but it’s romantic in a less obvious way which I really love. These photos were taken by my bestie Laura in the Mayfair area, it’s so pretty there – there are flowers everywhere and great restaurants on every corner. The Delsey Belmont series that I traveled with to London is a super handy, hardshell, lightweight suitcase series that I instantly loved! The sporty nature of it’s exterior is a nice twist to the otherwise classic brand but the suitcase still holds the same classy interior as always – I love the combo! The line is available to shop in above links. Enjoy friends!

July is always the big travel month of the year. And that is even though it’s been unusually warm in Denmark these past few months. Wow even just writing that sentence was kind of strange, what’s up with this sunny wonderfulness Denmark?! Copenhagen has been just delightful since I returned from Bali, amazing. Anyway – july is the big travel month of the year for my country. Everybody is on summer vacation and it leaves my Copenhagen kind of quiet. That is of course except the high pressure tourist points like Nyhavn, Strøget and so on – but I try not to go there anyway. But residential wise, it’s kind of quiet here.

As you probably know by now, one of my favorite things is my luggage. I am obsessed with luggage and I feel so blessed that my Delsey family lets me borrow different ones all the time! It’s like I get to go shopping every time before vacation! New new new. When I traveled to China I was so lucky that I got to travel with chic barbies suitcase – the Turenne in pink. It actually worked out perfectly because in my mind, this pink, is very asian and I was right. I have never seen so many pink suitcases as I have at arrivals in Beijing’s international airport. So I felt right at home as I dragged them outside of my hotel and out into a roundabout to shoot these photos. A tiny tip though – if you get yourself a pair of pink babies like these be smart and buy some of their luggage covers because this color is precious. Enjoy!

10 THINGS TO KNOW WHEN TRAVELING TO CHINA

Traveling far away can be scary, I always have a ton of things I google before going somewhere new! Like how clean is the drinking water, will I feel safe in the streets or will I need an adapter for my electronics? SO therefore I made a little guide to all of you traveling to China, with some of my observations that I made while I was in Beijing. Enjoy!

1. You dont need an adapter – you’re welcome.

2. Download the app “express VPN” from home and remember to create an account while still in europe / US otherwise it doesn’t work. VPN is important for those who wants facebook, instagram and google to work on their phones. Google maps is a very helpful app to have at hand.

3. You CAN drink the water if it’s been boiled but it’s also really cheap to drink water from bottles. Actually beverages in general is pretty cheap!

4. Not many people speak english in China, so for your own sake download the translater app. It’s clever because you just write what you want on the screen and it comes out in Chinese and you can show them. They’re very helpful when they understand you.

5. If you wanna beat jetlag, sleep on the whole flight there. You will land in the morning and have the whole day ahead of you so if you dont sleep you’ll be tired beyond belief for what feels like days!

6. 3likeHome works in China! HALLEJUA! And well even!

7. Public transportation works REALLY well! The subway of Beijing is the cleanest I’ve ever seen, the long distance trains too and everything leaves and arrives on time. Works perfectly! Also it feels very safe, there is security everywhere and people are very calm and collected. I never felt unsafe, not even once.

8. Always remember that there is a Chinese price and a tourist price when you go to markets. Don’t be afraid to bargain, they expect it from you!

9. Remember to bring pollution friendly skincare products – I don’t care if you’re a guy or a girl, the smog level in the big cities is even worse than you can imagine and your skin will suffer!

10. Please be prepared that photos will be taken. I have never been photographed as much as in China – and I have a feeling it’s not just because I am a ginger. It seemed that if you’re not Chinese, you’re interesting.

ROSES ARE

Dress / Envii (shop similar here), Bag / Balenciaga, Sneakers / Nike undefeated

Location: Beijing, China
Photos taken with Instax wide 300

First pip from my trip to China – spring photos from the heavenly peace square in Beijing. We went there early, saw the elder practice Tai Chi, sing in choirs and do their morning gymnastics. Within the park there was the most amazing park of roses, it was filled with people and everybody was taking pictures of the beautiful flowers. I didn’t know about this part of the park so I felt pretty silly walking around in a dress covered in roses. The Chinese apparently thought it was nothing short of pure awesomeness, they took so many photos of me and I was asked to hold babies and dogs for photos in front of the bushes. People stood next to me for photos and some also just came up and stuck a camera in my face, click and then they went away again. Apparently it’d a good idea to check for flowers parks before rocking a full flower look. Who could have known?
